Brent and I are going into the Open Beta to see what the game is like for ourselves.
We do like the lifetime subscription option they are offering.

Rianna, what didn't you like about the game?
Erd, if you plan on playing a game for more than 14 months, then the lifetime sub pays for itself. Brent and I both have lifetime accounts on LOTRO. We are considering the Champions one and we already know they are planning to offer lifetime sub with Star Trek Online. The nice thing about the lifetime subs, is that if money gets tight, you still have a game to play because it hsa already been paid for.

one thing i like is that, champions, makes you FEEL like a hero, can take on 3, 4, 5 mobs at lvl 1 and not die. CoH/CoV at low lvls, you cant always do that

true, only thing so far that gets me is the.... well i guess "wait time" for quest stuff to respawn or reactivate and general comic bookishness of it, but in a way that comic feel has an appeal to it also

it's hard to nail down exactly what it is that makes me say "ho hum" to CHampions....maybe it's that it's sorta more of the same. It has a few new things in it, I like the nemesis thing, although they introduce it way to late in the game for it to take center stage. I like that you can choose any power you want, but that can make it exceedingly hard to make a good group for challenging instances. Honestly, with SWTOR coming out all other MMO's have become boring to me. Even STO has fallen off my radar atm due to SWTOR. Maybe getting into it's beta will change my mind (and no I have not gotten into that beta...yet) In the Champions alpha, we tried to tell the developers that they needed a new delivery system for quests..but they stuck to the old WOW way of talking to a guy, doing the quest, then talking to the guy again....there HAS to be a new way of doing that. Hell, i don't even read the quest dialog in most MMO's anymore..I hit accept and see what I have to collect or kill. It gets old. I was sorta tempted to pay for a 6 month sub just to get into STO's beta, but decided it wasn't worth it becuase I would not feel that I got my money's worth out of Champions just for a beta to a game I AM looking forward to (after SWTOR of course)

Well Brent and I decided to get the game. So I guess if we can get enough people on at the same time, we can restart ION there.

Everyone will be on one server with instanced versions of each zone (freely travelable between instances) so that won't be an issue with this game. My user name is Kaiodan and Brent's is Klar001. You can add us to the friends list from the sidebar on the champions web site as well as in game.
